Tim Hortons celebrates 100 years of flight in Canada!

Commencing on June 29, CoF vignettes produced by the Canadian Aeronautical Preservation Association (CAPA), Canada Aviation Museum, NAV CANADA, and the Air Force, will be shown on Tim Hortons Digital Menu Boards at their 2,800 stores across Canada.

The Centennial of Flight vignettes listed below will be on display at every Tim Hortons location outfitted with a digital display.  Make sure to look for the current vigenette each time you visit your local Tim Hortons.

-  June 29 to July 5: Search and Rescue;

-  July 6 - 12: Humanitarian Assistance;

-  July 13 - 19: Aviation - Transforming Canada;

- July 20 -26: "Back to Baddeck" Cross-Canada Flight;

-  July 27 to August 2: Maritime Patrols; and

- August 3 - 9: "Safety of the Skies" from an air navigation service perspective.

Thrill to the sights and sounds of more than 50 aircraft, as they celebrate a milestone in Canada’s heritage: the 100th anniversary of powered flight in Canada and the British Empire, by flying the length of the canal and other Winterlude sites.

February 22: Silver Dart Day

February 23: National Aviation Day
The Government of Canada has declared February 23rd as National Aviation Day, the same day the Silver Dart flew 100 years ago.  Visit the Baddeck 2009 Flight of the Silver Dart Centennial Celebration website for a list of Aviation Day activities. 

February 23 - September 12/13 Cross Country Relay
Back to Baddeck Cross-Canada Relay.  The "Back to Baddeck" vintage aircraft relay flight project is presented by the Canadian Aeronautical Preservation Association (CAPA), celebrating 100 years of Canadian aviation achievements, celebrating the wide variety of aircraft involved and aviation's national impact.
