CAMC requires a Full Time Project Manager in Ottawa, Canada with an anticipated start date of 2009-01-05.  The Project Manager Plans, implements, monitors and oversees the completion of projects and their deliverables, ensuring effective management of scope, resources, time, cost, quality, risk and communications. Develops and presents proposals to funding partners. Builds relationships with key stakeholders in the industry, the government, and the education system.

JOB TITLE: Project Manager

JOB ACCOUNTABILITY:
Plans, implements, monitors and oversees the completion of projects and their deliverables, ensuring effective management of scope, resources, time, cost, quality, risk and communications. Develops and presents proposals to funding partners. Builds relationships with key stakeholders in the industry, the government, and the education system.

REPORTING TO RELATIONSHIPS:
Reports to: Director, Finance and Operations

RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES
Primary Responsibilities:

Project Management

• Project management including planning, strategizing and administration of all aspects of assigned projects.
• Liaises with steering committees to gather input on strategic direction of projects Quality control and quality assurance of deliverables
• Assuring objectives are met according to timelines with assigned projects
• Assuring deliverables and project objectives produced and delivered with assigned budgets
• Providing monthly detail reports on project status and condition to the Director, Finance and Operations
• Produces reports as assigned
• Defines and manages overall project risk identification and mitigation process through interaction with project constituents and stakeholders.
• Project budgeting

Client Relations and Contract Management

• Maintains a stable supply of contractors by regularly keeping in touch with valuable resources to foster continuity and knowledge retention.
• Concept and Proposal Writing
• Request for Proposal (RFP) writing and evaluation
• Contract writing and administration
• Facilitates committee meetings as required
• Makes presentations
• Directs steering committee
• Management of relations with contractors, suppliers and agents

Human Resources

• Recruitment of contractors
• Evaluates the performance of contractors

Monthly Score Cards

• Preparation of information needed for monthly score cards including, forecast and accrual dollars spent, project percentage of completion, and written highlights.

Secondary Responsibilities:

Research

• Edits, proofs, and revised documents as assigned
• Conducts research as assigned
• Write articles for internal and external publications
• Attends TASC meeting and workshops
• Involved with Partnership Projects
• Attends CAMC functions
• Represents CAMC at trade shows, Career Days, Career Fairs etc

WORKING CONDITIONS:

• Small entrepreneurial not-for-profit organization
• Fast-paced organization with sense of urgency to established deadlines
• Work is normally performed in a typical interior/office work environment
• Travel requirement annually

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

Education & Training (grade, degree, diploma, license, certificate, apprenticeship; area of training or education):

Post Secondary education with a concentration in Business, Project Management and/or Financial management.

ASSETS:

• PM certification
• Some knowledge/experience of the industry
• Technical knowledge of internet & web based applications


EXPERIENCE (specific level and type of experience):

Minimum of 5 years experience managing projects of $ 350K plus
