Ottawa, Ontario, CANADA – The Canadian Aviation Maintenance Council (CAMC), in partnership with the Western Aerospace Alliance is staging its 19th annual CAMC Forum and AGM in Vancouver, British Columbia from September 29th to October 1st, 2010. CAMC’s annual Forum is one of the foremost events in the Canadian aviation and aerospace industry. Delegates hear first-hand about industry trends and best practices, expand their contact networks, and recognize the exceptional contributions of their peers.NEW FOR 2010 – As an added and new element to the Forum and AGM, CAMC has arranged four, one-day, pre-Forum workshops that will be held on Wednesday, September 29th. These events will provide an excellent opportunity for aviation professionals to gain some valuable training. For those registered to attend the CAMC Forum and AGM, there will be a discounted fee for signing up for one of the first three workshops. Attendance at the HR and Training Solutions for Small Airports is free of charge with a Forum registration. For a nominal fee, the sessions are also available to industry professionals who are not registering for the full Forum and AGM. The Sessions:
1. Aircraft de/anti-Icing British Columbia Institute of Technology (BCIT), Aerospace Technology Campus 3800 Cessna Drive - Richmond, BC - CIBC room 198 Times - 0830 – 1700

It meets the highest standards of excellence for the aviation and aerospace industry, and exceeds Transport Canada requirements for recurrent training, by covering all key components, such as “the Dirty Dozen.”

Feedback from Industry and Transport Canada Inspectors suggests that there is a distinct lack of knowledge and understanding of the Risk Management component of SMS.
This one-day, risk-management workshop of theoretical and practical work, offers participants a solid understanding of the concepts of hazard and risk, and why the consequences rather than the source should be assessed. Participants will also explore ways to mitigate risk, will build their own Hazard Registry and Safety Risk Profile, and learn how to use this technique to strengthen their Safety Reporting System and Quality Assurance Program.
Participants will receive course materials and a certificate of attendance.

As a service to Airport Operators, and in partnership with the British Columbia Aviation Council (BCAC) and InterVISTAS Consulting, CAMC is facilitating a workshop to present the findings of the recently completed study of airport occupations. The report addresses retention, recruitment and training of airport employees.
